Stars Shoot Down Bombers

In yet another exciting semi-final series, the Northwest Stars defeated the Saint Louis Bombers 4 games to 2. The series was deadlocked at 2 games apiece when the Stars took a pair of 1 run games to close out the series.

Game 1: St Louis 14 - Northwest 5 - WP Hamels - LP Meche
Game 2: St Louis 3 - Northwest 4 - WP Moylan - LP Saito
Game 3: Northwest 2 - St Louis 4 - WP Wagner - LP Soriano - SV Saito
Game 4: Northwest 5 - St Louis 2 - WP Moylan - LP Maddux - SV Cordero
Game 5: Northwest 3 - St Louis 2 - WP Cordero - LP Hamels
Game 6: St Louis 1 - Northwest 2 - WP Speier - LP Saito

Individual highlights included the ageless Ken Griffey Junior batting .364, AJ Burnett posting an era of 2.45 without a decision, Y Betancourt batting .318 and 6RBI, Todd Helton batting .435 with 2HR and 7 runs scored and Magglio Ordonez batting .417 for the series.

Individual lowlights included T Saito posting a record of 0-2 with an ERA of 6.00, B Giles, Dan Uggla and Torii Hunter going a combined 5 for 62 (.081), and G Meche posting a record of 0-1 with an ERA of 12.27.

The World Series matchup is now set. The Bethlehem Beaz will host the Nortwest Stars in what promises to be an exciting matchup. Both teams are riding an emotional rollercoaster and are peaking at the right time. Stay tuned for further results.
