Combined No-Hitter!

The St Louis Bombers pitching staff gave the fans an evening that they'll never forget by tossing a combined no-hitter! The tension started to build around the 6th inning. By the 9th inning the crowd was electrified. St Louis managed only 4 hits on the night.

The win was credited to Scot Shields(1-1) who went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing no runs. Shields got help from Takashi Saito who was credited with his 2nd save. Scott Baker(0-1) absorbed the loss. He gave up just 3 runs and 4 hits in 8 innings.

'You probably have a better chance of winning the lottery than this happening,' said Shields who got credit for the win, 'I don't expect it to sink in for awhile.' he said. 'You know, it's hard to say who was better, the starter or the bullpen!'
